Groups and Activities for all ages at St George's-Tron Church

Students @ SGT

We’re glad to welcome you to Glasgow and to our church family.

St George’s-Tron is a congregation built on a gospel that unites all together as one in Christ Jesus--students, young workers, families and older saints from many nationalities and all walks of life. From the heart of the city, our mission is to proclaim Christ here, throughout Glasgow, and to the world.

Because of this, we take the Bible seriously, since in it God’s voice is proclaimed and heard today, with clarity and power. So our priority is to open it, and let it speak--and train others to spread its message--wherever and whenever we can.

On Sundays we major on Bible teaching, so that the whole church family can be ‘equipped for the work of ministry’ (Ephesians 4:12). Read on for details of other ways that you can be involved including Christianity Explored, International Events, and Release the Word, a Bible training programme for students and young workers.

Whatever you do, as a student, don’t just drift as far as church is concerned. Find a church that’s serious about getting to know the truth that God has given us to live by in the Bible, then get stuck in. Find a church that’ll help you grow and give. That’s what we try to do, and we’d love you to join us if you’re serious about that too. There’s more to knowledge than lectures and books—get your wisdom for life from God and his Word.

For All Students

Release the Word:

every Thursday at 7pm in the church halls, 25 Bath Street (you can come straight from CU). Dinner provided!

Release the Word is our Bible training programme for all students and young workers at the Tron. Come to RtW if you want to grow up strong in your faith and get to grips with the breadth of God's Word. This term we'll be learning some basic Christian doctrine and working our way through Mark's gospel. Our aim is not only to teach the Bible but to equip you to share it with others too. You'll make good friends and we'll give you dinner! Make sure you sign up by filling in the response form.

Christianity Explored:

also on Thursdays at 7pm with a meal alongside Release the Word. Come to Christianity Explored if you’re not a Christian, or not sure what you really believe but want to review the basics. Or bring a friend. Over 9 weeks we’ll explore three questions at the heart of Christianity: Who was Jesus? Why did he come? What does it mean to follow him?

International Events

Welcome to Scotland and welcome to Glasgow!

We love having visitors from all around the world. We have special events for international students and workers from overseas to help you settle here. If you are a Christian, we hope you will feel at home with us, despite cultural differences.

If you are not a Christian, this is a great time to explore what Christians really believe. If you or a friend struggles to understand the strange English people speak in Glasgow, ask about our Easier English study groups for Christianity Explored.

Check the internationals page or contact Euan for more details.
